In some areas of the city complete districts of Warsaw were damaged including the Jewish District which was razed to the ground after the Ghetto uprising in 1943. Cultural losses are impossible to estimate. Burned libraries & museum collections, destroyed churches and palaces (including Royal Castle in Warsaw .
