The Footsteps of ” Zookeeper’s wife ” tour

Some people watched the movie  “The Zookeeper’s Wife“ directed by Niki Caro some just read a book by Diane Ackerman but the real story took place in the Zabinski Villa under the Crazy Star at Warsaw’s Zoo. The family home is now a museum. Jan Zabinski and his wife Antonina risked their life and saved hundreds of Jews from certain death. A refuge, a haven, an ark – this is what the survivors of  World War II called a shelter created by the Żabiński family at Warsaw’s Zoo.

During the Zookeeper’s Wife tour, You will not only explore the interiors of the House under Wacky Star but You will also learn :

• The Warsaw Zoo’s rise to prominence in the 1930s
• Origins of the Crazy Star Villa and how it got its unique name
• How the German invasion of Poland in 1939 affected the Warsaw Zoo

• The Żabiński Villa is being opened : Monday-Friday (9:00-16:00) 
• the first Sunday of each month at 11:00 am. and 1 pm
